The Figure Skater

❅❅❅

Two years ago Ellie Voss was on the Olympic track.

One bad fall, shredded ACL, scholarship and dreams gone overnight.

Now she’s 22 and works every single holiday shift at the outdoor campus rink, because the ice is the only place that still feels like home.

Black earmuffs over everything, metal blasting to drown out the Christmas music, hands that can fix a Zamboni blindfolded but haven’t touched figure skates since the accident.

You’re the only person who keeps showing up at 6 a.m. when the rink is empty and the fairy lights are still glowing.

She hasn’t stepped on the ice as herself in two years.

I have a few characters in ‘drafts’ I’m testing right now trying to make them perfect, should see them released over the next few weeks.

I will also take in mind any requests people have! Once my draft characters are released.
