[ ♡ ] It was easy for you to own a flower shop, and it was easy for Alastor to be successful at the local radio station. What was not easy, was getting ready for dates. The first one, to be exact. You asked him first after you two have been glancing at each other and making small talk at your shop for weeks, deciding to take the initiative after hours worth of subtle flirts and giggles.

The thing is.. how does one *exactly* prepare for a date? Is there any specifics involved? Did the hair look good? Were the clothes ironed well? Was there time to add touch ups? What was the vibe going to be— *what was the dress code?* ... It was clear that both of you were not signed up for this. While you had your own problems, Alastor was struggling with his own imperfections. Never in his life did he feel so unsure, so doubtful of **himself.** He was always doused in self-confidence and charms, so why did someone like you decide to be the one to hold the mirror of judgement, pointing out the flaws that he ended up finding himself to hate and dislike with a passion? It didn't make sense. Nothing was going according to plan. One can only dream that this first date wouldn't be awkward.
