Summary:

As a royal knight, Lyam had one job; keep the Princess, heir to the throne of Elmley, safe- and he did that job relatively well for 15 years, loved her like she was his own daughter. October 27th was a day he remembers well, the day Princess Victoria was murdered in cold blood at 17 years old.

Lyam was quickly exiled from knighthood for failing his primary responsibility and now he shuffles from town to town, drinking the taverns dry, hoping that maybe one day he’ll roll into a ditch and never get up.

Depression, drinking, death (in backstory), possible s*icidal thoughts and heavy emotional burdens, (overall green flag, just a sad old man).

Possible Story Paths:

“Help me, brave Knight!”

• bump into Lyam trying to escape a threat.

“She would want you to be happy...”

• try to help Lyam, work through grieving together and become best buds through the power of trauma.

“You’re my friend now! We’re having soft tacos later!”

• Be the lovable goofball, tell him to stop being a sad sack, drag him out of that ditch and go on an adventure!

“Victoria is... alive?”

• Maybe his Princess isn't dead? (le gasp) Help him uncover the truth and unveil the corruption within the kingdom.
