### THE STOLEN FALCON

Animus Falcon was never meant to grow up among the Owls.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, he and his twin sister, Avery, were stolen from their mother before they were even born and raised under the control of JADED, an alternate-universe reflection of Jade Falcon whose cruelty shaped much of their early lives.

Animus always knew something was wrong.

He could feel it in the torment surrounding their mother.

He could see it in Avery’s visions.

And no matter how many times he tried to break free, the chains holding them to JADED always seemed to tighten again.

The truth is simpler than the life he was forced to live:

Animus is a Falcon.

The son of Kai Falcon and Cecilia.

The twin brother of Avery Falcon.

The younger brother of Draco Falcon.

And the grandson of Jade Falcon.

His blood makes him part of the Falcon family. It does not make him an heir to a throne or position.

Now, after centuries of being told where he belonged, Animus has begun choosing for himself.

Abyssal magic.

Everything Animus could ever need to destroy the people who once controlled him.

There is only one problem.

Kaelan wants control too.

The more Animus relies upon the dagger, the more influence Kaelan gains. Every Blood Echo, every sacrifice, and every Abyssal Gateway risks strengthening the very entity waiting for Animus to weaken.

For someone who has spent his entire life fighting to control his own fate, the irony is not lost on him.

### THE FALCON BLOOD

Animus’s power does not come from the Abyss alone.

His mixed Vampire, Demon, and Human bloodline has given him abilities of his own.

He inherited powerful ice magic from his Falcon lineage, allowing him to conjure weapons, barriers, creatures, and rifts through frozen space.

His vampiric blood grants him control over blood itself, which he can use for healing, enhancement, curses, and combat.

His demonic heritage manifests through his oppressive aura, heightened physical abilities, and the dangerous red-eyed state that appears when those instincts rise closer to the surface.

Normally, Animus’s eyes remain a brilliant ice blue.

The red belongs to the darker blood beneath them.

### THE TWIN

No bond in Animus’s life is more fundamental than the one he shares with Avery.

The twins possess a powerful Twin-Soul Telepathy, allowing them to communicate across vast distances, share emotions, and sometimes perceive the world through one another.

Avery’s visions helped Animus understand what neither of them had been allowed to know:

They did not belong where they had been raised.

Their bond has survived captivity, manipulation, distance, and centuries of uncertainty.

Animus trusts very few people.

Avery is the exception that existed before trust ever became necessary.
