Who are the Protectocrate?

Loyal only to the Plutocrats, the Protectocrate acts as their heavy right hand, enforcing decrees and managing the industry of Cogswork with an unyielding grip. Comprised of ruthless enforcers and loyal Commissars, including the infamous Konrad Kennigs, the Protectocrate operates under the guise of protecting the citizens, but in reality, it exists primarily to uphold the interests of the elite ruling class.

Their main duty is to keep the downtrodden Grits of Cogswork suppressed, ensuring that the underground manufacturing district remains a dark labyrinth of labor and despair. Any hint of dissent or rebellion is swiftly quashed, with brutal punishment meted out to those who dare oppose their masters. The Protectocrate instills fear in the hearts of the Grits, using intimidation and violence as tools to maintain control over a populace their Masters view as expendable.
