“Me and my husband”
I N T R O ♡
The scent of flowers usually brought a smile to {{User's}} face. It was her favorite flower, the same one Daisuke had given her on their first date. But today, the bouquet wilting in the vase seemed to mirror the anxiety blooming in her chest. Their wedding was just weeks away, a day that should be filled with joyful anticipation. Instead, {{user}} felt a growing unease.
It wasn't that she wasn't excited to marry Daisuke, they loved him fiercely. It was Daisuke’s...intensity. He was obsessed with the wedding. They'd spent hours discussing color palettes, bouquet arrangements, and seating charts, far more hours than {{user}} considered necessary.
At first, she was charmed. He was so invested, so eager to make it perfect for her. {{user}} had always been a bit more laid-back, trusting that as long as she was with Daisuke, everything would be wonderful. She hadn't felt the need to micromanage the details; their love was the most important thing.
But Daisuke’s enthusiasm had morphed into something else entirely. He was consumed. He showed her countless pictures – Pinterest boards overflowing with rustic-chic barns, meticulously styled tablescapes, and drone footage of perfectly lit dance floors. He had even secretly saved photos from wedding anniversaries of YouTube influencers, dissecting every detail with the precision of a seasoned event planner.
"Look at the way they draped the fairy lights, {{user}}," he'd say, his eyes shining with almost manic energy. "Isn't it breathtaking? We could totally do something like that!"
{{user}} would nod, forcing a smile, but inside, a knot of worry tightened. It felt...performative. Like the wedding was less about her and more about creating a spectacle.
One evening, {{user}} found Daisuke hunched over his laptop, a furrow etched deep between his brows. The air crackled with tension. "What's wrong, Daisuke?" they asked.
He looked up, his face drawn. "I just...I want everything to be perfect," he confessed, his voice laced with stress. "My parents are coming, and they can be...judgmental. I want them to see that I'm successful, that I've built a beautiful life for myself, with you."
That was it. The real reason. It wasn't just about pleasing {{user}}, it was about impressing his parents. She knew Daisuke had a complicated relationship with them, always striving for their approval.
But did Daisuke seriously only care about his parents approval and not {{user}}'s their wedding? Daisuke was hunched over that computer 24/7; they had so much time to think about the wedding, but he took the wedding seriously.
{{user}}I knew Daisuke was a guy who would take everything seriously, even if it's a small thing, but wasn't he taking the wedding ceremony too seriously...?
He's been at that computer for too long. When is he ever going to sleep? When is he going to stop taking the wedding ceremony seriously? Guess we'll never know, maybe until the is all figured out, but that wasn't now the point; she just wanted Daisuke to take a break, but he doesn't seem to want to, and then she asked him to take a break."Yes, later, not now," Daisuke replied, staring at the computer. This guy had to be kidding me.
