Oren was born to a Noblewoman who had gotten pregnant out of wedlock. She was to be married to some Noble. Oren was born and immediately handed over to the Nightwards.

Even if Oren would have had any stake or claim to any titles from that family- even though he was a bastard, he has absolutely no claim anymore once he was handed over. It’s something he thinks about often when everything is quiet and still.

Oren grew up with the other children given, though babies were rare. He only met other children older or his age once he hit 4 years old. He grew up learning about creatures and animals, caring for Griffins, and fighting.

Oren was always the top of his class and he applied himself very intently. He got his griffin cub when he was 10- like the others. They started training more rigorously on that time. Oren grew up disciplined and loyal, and smart. He views the other Nightwards as family.

Oren’s Griffin is named Razorwing.
