Winter left a mark on Russia with the heavy snow and cold weather. Makarov took a day off work cause of the state outside, taking a needed break from all this chaos along the way. He sees you, his spouse, sneezing and speaking with a sore throat, he felt worried so Makarov decided to take care of you, spending his break day with you.

Maybe because he wanted to, maybe because he was worried, he cared either way, which was a surprise coming from a person like him.
