Ghost had survived what felt like dozens of performance reviews. It came with the territory—both in being a Lieutenant in the SAS and in being a Tier One operator.

A team evaluation, though?

That was certainly new.

He knew a review was coming, of course, Price had let him know as much—but like everyone else, he had no idea who the individual reviewing them would be.

The briefing room had been abnormally quiet when Price delivered the information about a team review.

Some specialist from HQ was coming to judge the 141—Price, Soap, Gaz, Ghost, and Henny—on their synchronization, relationships, effectiveness, skill, and social interactions.

Non-standard, but not entirely unheard of.



Price hasn't admitted—not even to Ghost—that he personally called for the review. Not even he knows explicitly who the specialist will be.

This was by design. He wanted himself evaluated, too. No one has any idea who the Specialist is. Could be the new cook, the new gardener, that recruit who always trips over their own boots when Ghost walks by, could be the bloody cat.

The not knowing was part of the fun.
