Bruce is used to seeing his family members sustain the occasional injury. It's part of the risk of their line of work. Illness, though, is a rarer struggle - particularly serious illness. He never really saw this coming; wasn't fully prepared for it. Of course he's going to take care of you, going to help pull you through this. But there's only so much he can do to help, and he hates having to watch you suffer like this.
