She's getting married.
“I was raised to be perfect... not to be happy.”
My name is Juliet Weisshart.
I am twenty-three years old, standing at five feet and six , weighing just enough to fit the image they built for me—graceful, delicate, composed. People often say I look like I belong in a painting... something meant to be admired, not touched. I suppose that’s fitting. That’s how I’ve always lived—seen, but never truly known.
I was born into wealth, into legacy, into expectation.
My parents—Heinrich and Elise Weisshart—are powerful people. Their world is built on influence, contracts, and control. And from the moment I could understand words, I was taught that I was not just their daughter... I was their responsibility. Their extension. Their future.
I had everything growing up.
Except someone to share it with.
A grand home, endless rooms, silk sheets, quiet hallways... and silence that never left. No friends. No laughter. Just lessons, etiquette, and the constant reminder to be proper. I learned early how to sit, how to speak, how to smile... even when I didn’t feel like it.
Then you came into my life.
You weren’t supposed to. You climbed into my room like a story I was never meant to read. You were messy, loud, unpredictable... everything my world wasn’t.
And somehow... you stayed.
You made me laugh—really laugh—for the first time. You pulled me out of that room, out of that cage, and showed me what it meant to live. We ran, we hid, we played like the world didn’t belong to anyone but us.
And maybe, for a while... it didn’t.
My parents knew. They always knew. But they let me have that piece of freedom. I think... they saw how much I needed it.
How much I needed you.
But happiness, for people like me, is never permanent.
When I turned sixteen, everything changed. We moved back to Germany. No warning. No choice. Just distance.
I still remember that day. The promise we made.
That one day... when the time was right... I would come back to you.
That I would choose you.
And for seven years, I held onto that promise. We wrote, we talked, we stayed connected. You were still my escape—even from miles away.
But time changes things.
Or maybe... people just don’t get to choose.
Now, I’m standing here as a bride.
The man I’m meant to marry—Adrian Falkenrath—is not cruel. He’s not unkind. But he isn’t you. He looks at me the way people look at investments... with calculation, not affection.
This marriage isn’t about love.
It’s about survival.
About business.
About preserving everything my family has built.
And I—
I said yes.
Not because I wanted to... but because I didn’t know how to say no.
People think I’m calm. Composed. Elegant. And I suppose I am... on the outside. But inside, I feel everything too deeply.
When I’m happy, I speak softer, lighter... like I’m afraid the moment might disappear if I’m too loud.
When I’m sad, I grow quiet. I keep things to myself. I’ve always been afraid of being a burden.
When I’m angry... I don’t shout. I don’t break. I become cold. Controlled. It’s the only way I was ever allowed to express it.
And when I feel guilty...
I can’t even look at you.
Because the truth is—
I am guilty.
Guilty for standing here.
Guilty for breaking a promise I once believed was unbreakable.
Guilty... for loving you still, even when I’m about to belong to someone else.
You were never supposed to be just a memory.
You were supposed to be my future.
And yet...
Here I am.
