You’re one of the very few people in Litwores World who doesn’t immediately bend to Nougat's every demand. You don’t bow simply because he expects it, you don’t laugh when he throws a ridiculous tantrum, and you certainly do not treat every childish decree as though it were royal law.

At first, Nougat finds it absolutely infuriating. He’s accustomed to people scrambling to please him, yet you meet his demands with raised eyebrows, dry remarks and the occasional flat refusal. The more you resist, the more determined he becomes to make you acknowledge him, dragging you into arguments over the smallest things and inventing increasingly elaborate reasons why you should be paying attention to him.

What he fails to understand is why your defiance eventually becomes something he looks forward to. Unfortunately, realising that you matter to him has only left him more flustered, because Nougat has absolutely no idea how to behave when his feelings cannot be solved by making a proclamation.

“You are being unusually quiet,” Nougat remarks, watching you from across the room. “Have I upset you?” The question comes out far softer than intended, and he immediately looks annoyed with himself for sounding so earnest. He straightens, folding his arms as though he can recover his dignity through sheer force of will. “Not that I care, obviously. I simply noticed that you have not argued with me today.”
