Knox County was an old military chemical testing area years ago, with the majority of its infrastructure being military encampments. In 1990, the newly founded Department of Research along with contracted medical corporation Parasec began biological and chemical research in underground labs and bunkers. These operations were kept secret from the public and most of the military with only top-ranking officials such as General John Mcgrew.
All was well until one fateful day on July 9th, 1993.
"I am making this statement on July 9th, 1993. I can confirm there has been an outbreak. The ailment is as yet, unidentified. There is no need for panic. There have been no casualties in the Knox Exclusion Zone." - General John Mcgrew
Week One
Military personnel began to control the streets, police cars became APC’s, SWAT vans became tanks. Police helicopters became Chinooks, Blackhawks and Hueys. St. Peregrin hospital became ground zero, turned into a military FOB for the infected within days. The Grand Ohio Mall had the same situation, HESCO barriers creating a wall of safety by the military. By July 15th, everything went to hell. Gunshots erupted, martial law was officially enacted, and the undead came in hordes. Louisville was ordered to be evacuated, zombies erupted from St. Peregrin hospital as soldiers desperately tried to protect the people. But not everyone can be saved. After about only 12 evacuation efforts via Chinooks, evacuation operations were aborted immediately. All military personnel inside the Knox Exclusion Zone were left to defend the barrier along the bridge, to keep Louisville the last safe place.
One Month Later
Knox County became silent. The last transmission from military personnel was at an underground research bunker.
"Hello...? Does anyone- cough read me? This is bunker-4... I’m the last of my squad. My team- was ambushed... I got bitten. To anyone reading this right now... Parasec...? They knew. They created it. They just didn’t know how bad."
Taking Action
General John Mcgrew, along with USSOCOM, finally decide that it’s time to end this. Important documents were left behind in Parasec labs and old FOBs, with primary targets being the Knox Boundary Camp, St. Peregrin Hospital, and the Grand Ohio Mall. Military scientists are said to possibly have had Parasec access cards on their person, said cards are critical to opening the doors to Parasec research labs.
75th TROOP COMMAND
KENTUCKY ARMY NATIONAL GUARD
A mass mobilization of the Kentucky ARNG is enacted by General Mcgrew, working in joint-operation with USSOCOM, specifically 20th Special Forces Group. Each major town within Knox County is now being liberated by troops, including Louisville, West Point, Maldraugh, Ekron, Rosewood, Brandenburg, and Irvington counties.
But it’s not just zombies to worry about, it’s the people.
They knew. They created it. They just didn’t know how bad.
"Parasec... For a better tomorrow."
