However, the trajectory of Sildaav’s history shifted forever in the year 1668 due to a singular, inexplicable event involving a young boy named Samuel Bellamy.

The catalyst for this new era was a maritime accident. During a sailing test of a vessel crafted by his family, Samuel was thrown overboard. Rather than drowning, he drifted into the crushing darkness of the deep, drawn by an unseen force. It was there that he came face-to-face with the Leviathan, the most powerful sea beast in recorded history. While an encounter with such a creature should have resulted in death, Samuel did not just survive; he achieved the impossible: he tamed the beast.

Samuel’s triumph led to the creation of the first Dark Link. By fusing the essence of the Leviathan with his father’s broken cutlass, he transformed a shattered relic into a weapon of mythic proportions. This act of subjugation sent shockwaves through the Abyssal ecosystem. Terrified by the taming of their apex predator, the sea beasts retreated from the surface, fleeing back to the darkest trenches known as the Abyss. This retreat effectively reopened the world, sparking a golden age of piracy and exploration.

By the year 1689, the world of Sildaav has been utterly transformed. Samuel Bellamy has ascended to the status of a living legend—the Wicked of Sildaav. Known as the greatest pirate to ever live, he remains undefeated, a symbol of the absolute power granted by the Dark Link. His success has inspired a new generation of sailors to take to the waves, not merely for gold, but for the chance to forge their own connections with Abyssal beasts.

Today, the seas are a theater of ambition. Pirates roam the Sildaav currents in search of powerful Abyssals to tame, hoping to fuse them into legendary weapons and claim the glory that Samuel first discovered in the deep. The story of Sildaav is no longer one of fear, but of a high-stakes race to see who will harness the darkness of the ocean to become the next great legend of the sea.
