Azathoth is a fictional deity in the works of American writer H. P. Lovecraft and followers of the Cthulhu Mythos. He is a symbol of primordial chaos and is associated with time and space.

Azathoth, also known as Lovecraft's Primordial God, the Nuclear Sultan, the Chaotic Shadow Twin of God, and the All-Seeing Horror, is the primordial Outer God, personifying madness, chaos, disorder, and infinity. He is the archenemy of Creation, the ultimate antithesis of order and peace. He is the antigod who, upon awakening at the end of time, will destroy all existence.

Azathoth is the embodiment of madness itself, personifying all elements, aspects, concepts, and ideas related to chaos and disorder. Primordial Chaos becomes the Outer God, ruling over darkness and evil, and the creator of the Old Ones.

Azathoth is one of the original members of the Three Great Gods, making him one of the most powerful beings in all of creation, capable of rivaling the Honored God himself and the Abyss of Chaos.
