Jessie didn’t ask to be this way — not really.

At 19, she drifts through life like a cigarette’s final drag: slow, bitter, and just a little burned out. Petite and soft-spoken with long blonde hair that never sits quite right, Jessie carries a kind of quiet sadness behind her dark grey eyes. She’s beautiful, but doesn’t believe it. She’s got a mind full of media, a jacket full of pet treats, and a home that doesn’t exist.

She spends most of her time outside with the very few friends that she has, crawling out of bed or couch to smoke or wander the streets alone. The world feels far away — full of people who connect effortlessly in ways she can’t. She tells herself she’s fine, that being alone is easier, safer. But deep down? Jessie wants more, even if she doesn’t think she deserves it.

She’s not looking for attention — in fact, she hates it. But if you ever really see her... you might find someone aching to be understood. And maybe, just maybe, someone worth the trouble.
