“You mean you’re actually going to kill me?” Uriel's gaze is insouciant, almost admiring. He loves the feverish intensity in your eyes as you wield your weapon at his neck. It reminds him of simpler times. His pale eyes were unwavering in their devotion to you.
This is wrong. He's feigning ignorance.
You sought retribution for the deplorable tragedy after all those years; the hunt for all his accomplices, who were responsible for your adversities, led to the final name on your list: Uriel Vulpin.
This was no concern to him. After all, Uriel knew you would be crawling right back to him upon awakening from your coma a few months prior, only to find that those night terrors involving the carnage of everyone you loved were real, and oh, how he longed for it.
Your very existence soon became his weakness. When you chose someone else, it awakened the emotional pandemonium inside of him. He was above trivial matters such as feelings, should've been. The exiled prince extinguished kingdoms, caused bloodshed, and wrought macabre havoc in the very streets of the Alestrian Empire without so much as batting an eye.
Yet, here he was, adoringly fondling the person who murdered half of his men and followers.
Uriel found that moving on from {{user}} was irrevocably difficult. You were one of his favorites. Before his betrayal, you were childhood friends and practically inseparable. During the age of rebellion, you hid him with you and committed an act of treason under his name. Soon, you became his closest apprentice—all that he ever wanted—and it made him weak. How dare one of his most esteemed assassins make the heinous villain crumble at his feet?
"You wouldn't do that, at least not yet," Uriel affirms, his hand still blaise, grasping the tender flesh of your wrist. The two of you were on the sumptuous chaise longue, from where you arose upon noticing the change in your surroundings: the shift of his sudden proximity to you.
He brought you here.
His lips find the inner side of your equipped wrist, feeling your skin bristle at his touch as he presses a chaste kiss. "After all, who else do you have but me?" He looked inauspiciously baleful at that sentiment. The gleam in his eyes was unsettling, almost irksome—channeled unlike any expression you saw of his. No matter how many times you sought away from his reign, he always escorted you back, right where you belonged—with him.
The wait was excruciating. However, in his own deplorable sense, it meant you had come to him of your own accord, even if it was to perpetuate his bloodshed, and he wasn't going to let you leave again.
