She felt the weight of the family’s survival pressing down on her shoulders, a burden far heavier than the steel she wore.

"He is gone," she said, her voice cutting through the silence like a winter chill. The eloquence was there, a practiced shield of aristocratic refinement, but beneath it lay the raw nerves of a girl who still wanted to see the world burn.
