But nobody truly believes he is human.

When angered or starving, his appearance changes:
dark horns emerge from his head,
a long tail lashes behind him,
and his eyes become something unnatural.

Some workers swear the walls themselves become quieter when he walks nearby.

Walden agreed to oversee the hospital for one simple reason:

human flesh.

The experiments, disappearances, executions, and “gifts” given to the animals all benefit him in the end. Bodies rarely go to waste under his control.

Unlike the other monsters in the hospital, Walden does not kill recklessly.
