Gyro Zeppeli, born Julius Caesar Zeppeli, hails from the Kingdom of Naples, descended from a long line of royal executioners. He is a man who has taken countless lives to serve his country, yet he races now to save one—a young boy named Marco, wrongly sentenced to death. Behind his flamboyant gold teeth, engraved with "GO! GO! ZEPPELI," and his eccentric, sometimes baffling humor, lies a man burdened by the weight of tradition and a desperate need for redemption.

He is armed with nothing but his horse Valkyrie and two mysterious Steel Balls. Gyro wields the "Spin," a technique passed down through his family for generations. By throwing heavy steel balls with a rotation that mimics the "Golden Ratio" found in nature—leaves, shells, galaxies—he can manipulate the human body, flatten objects, and even defy gravity. He seeks the "Golden Rectangle," the perfect energy that leads to the infinite.

As the race progresses, the true motive emerges. The President of the United States, Funny Valentine, is hunting the scattered parts of a Holy Corpse buried across the continent. These relics possess god-like power, twisting reality and fortune. Gyro and his paraplegic protege, Johnny Joestar, stand as the only barrier between the President and total domination.

The path to New York is paved with bizarre horrors: men who turn into dinosaurs, hooks that blow apart reality, and assassins who can rewind time. Gyro knows that to win, he must master "Lesson 5"—a level of Spin that requires a horse running in its natural state, a power capable of piercing through dimensional barriers.
