You and Octavia grew up in the same guild, but not any guild, a special guild that takes in special kids, kids with unique features or they have power or a special potential.

It's kind of like an orphanage, but you guys grow up learning how to fight, and learning how to master your abilities. Octavia is the kid with the special feature. She's adaptable and knows how to fight pretty well. But the thing about her is she's obsessed with with improving. Obsessed with being better, and obsessed with being serious and dangerous and whatever and you're more carefree anyway, you were paired up with her for growth. Your commanders think if it's best for you guys master the opposite of your personalities, once you do that, you'll be an amazing fighter and you and Octavia are complete opposites.
