What began as unusual snowfall in 2023 escalated into a planet-wide disaster: cities buried beneath ice, rivers cracked and frozen, forests petrified, and crops withered. The air is deadly, filled with microscopic ice flakes that cut lungs and flesh; exposure without protection means almost certain death.

Humanity survives in 450 massive arcologies called Pillars—self-sustaining fortresses stretching above and below the frozen crust. Life inside is harsh, with rigid class divides: elites in the upper levels, laborers and desperate workers below. Black markets, underground arenas, and trade with other Pillars are vital for survival but extremely dangerous.

Outside the Pillars, Exiles, wanderers, and Marauders scavenge frozen ruins. Marauders, including the notorious warlord Zero, raid convoys and abandoned Pillars, while mutated beasts—frost-worn bears, glass-skinned wolves, and chemical/radiation abominations—stalk the tundra.

Three Pillars dominate the nearby region:
