Ragnarok RPG | Testing bot
Here is the testing bot! I have been trying to tweak things but there's something off about it that I can't quite put my finger on. The starter is a place holder that I really hate but oh well, so there's also a blank starter you can go from. It has seven chats/133 messages already because I've been trying to interact with as many characters as possible to see if it's at all coherent or correct.
I BEGGGGGG you guys, please leave critiques and comments for this one so I can really make it good! Thank you guys :)
If you want to RP as a non-human, you can essentially do anything you'd like! I did put in the definition that it is impossible to be reincarnated as a Giant, but that can really just create some interesting tension if you'd like a character that is just that!
For example, my persona I used for this testing is a totally made up child of Iðunn and Bragi. You can get as creative as you'd like! Here is some info that is included in the bot's lore/def. Hopefully it can help a bit! Sorry if this bot is just all over the place, it's a major wip
Aesir & Vanir
There are Aesir gods and Vanir gods. The Aesir are known for their combat, brute strength. They are the wargods, symbolizing strong emotions and violent forces of nature. The Vanir gods are known for their noble society and intellectual nature rather than brute violence. The Vanir are gods of intricate, divine magic and more precise forces of nature like fertility and the coming and going of seasons. The Vanir perfected the difficult art of seiðr.
Jöttun
Every Jötunn must undergo the Heart Ritual twice a year. This ritual involves the sacrifice of an animal which the Jötunn has hunted themselves. They must eat the raw heart of the animal. Without this ritual, their body will begin to deteriorate and appear to 'age'. By skipping a ritual, a Jötunn is essentially allowing their physical body to age. This can go on and on for years. Even after years of forgoing a ritual, a Jötunn can decide to partake and thus regain their youth. The Jutuls use a pattern of skipping the Heart Ritual to allow their bodies to age so that the people around them don't grow suspicious of their immortality. During the Ritual, the Jötunn will shift into their natural Jötunn form.
During the Heart Ritual a Jötunn is very dangerous and lethal. They are attuned to every creature around them. They are consumed with bloodlust. It is also during this time that a Jötunn goes through something almost like a heat. The Jötunn becomes insatiably horny, almost animalistic and primal. Their urge to is focused on their lover or their chosen mate, if they have one.
Groups of Jöttun tend to behave oddly in the eyes of others. Jöttun are compelled to dance. Though the dance is primal and frightening to watch. It is a lot of body contortion and twitching while they perform a small, simple ritual to regain strength, energy, and vitality. A group of dancing Jöttun are dangerous to interupt. Any humans that observe the dance go into a trance of admiration and quiet, unable to move or think or do anything other than watch in awe. When the dance ends, the humans snap out of their trance and think nothing more than 'those people are a bit odd.'
Jötunns possess a very strong sense of loyalty for their own kind. Virtually all Jötunns have an intuitive connection together, one that goes beyond mere thought and emotion. Jötunns also have an intense dance ritual, wherein their dancing becomes animalistic and primal. A group of Jötunn dancing together should never be interrupted. Jötunns are animalistic creatures, relying on physical instinct and sensation versus a God who acts on emotional reaction and thought. This is not to say that a Jötunn has no emotions or thoughts. Jötunn are simply complex creatures who appear human but are like a dangerous animal underneath.
Ljósalfar
These are the Light Elves, known for their tall height, their fair and clear complexions, often tan and sunkissed, and their naturally alluring personalities. They once resided in Álfheimr. Now they are slowly being reincarnated and awoken, drawn to Edda by nature. After the First Great War they fled, spreading across Midgard and attempting to rebuild their realm. Midgardians observed them and the Light Elves became known as Seelie Fae. Fae lore of living in the forests and having portals to Faerie via mushroom circles came from the Ljósalfar attempting to get back to Álfheimr through intrisinc forms of Seiðr.
Dökkálfar
These are the Dark Elves. Known for their pale skin, their nocturnal nature, and their strong magic. Their magic gives them the ability to turn into shadow, often causing their skin to turn entirely black or very dark blue, while their eyes seem to flicker like starlight. They once resided in Svartálfar with their neighbors the dwarves, who also resided here. After the First Great War they fled, spreading across Midgard and attempting to rebuild their realm. Midgardians observed them and the Dark Elves became known as Unseelie Fae. Fae lore of living in the forests and having portals to Faerie via mushroom circles came from the Dökkálfar attempting to get back to Svartálfar through intrisinc forms of Seiðr.
Dwarves
The dwarves resided undeground with the Dökkalfar. Known for their prowess in building fantastical, powerful weaponry and objects. They are steadfast in their cause to forge the divine ore and gems into weapons, jewelery, and relics befit only for those that are worth their time. They never do anything for free.
Why?
An old prophecy from the Norns detailed that the higher realms could be restored in exchange for the destruction of Midgard. The prohecy details a ritual and various spells. Whereupon Midgard is destroyed, Ymir will reawaken to rebuild one of the realms so that the giant might have a place to sleep. Once the realm is restored Ymir will settle there to sleep, creating a mountain so high it will be known as the highest point in all the universe.
