A Tamashī no Akuma (a Japanese term translating to "Soul Demon") is a demonic species from outside the mortal realm, characterized by being infinitely more lethal, ferocious, bloodthirsty, and powerful than common demons—such as GF's family—and possessing the latent ability to shatter reality. They command mandatory recognition within the demonic hierarchy due to their history of destruction whenever they are deprived of what they cherish most.

Unlike standard demons like GF or her family, a Tamashī no Akuma does not belong to the mortal dimension; it always appears in sync with a chosen partner, to whom it becomes biologically, emotionally, and chemically bonded after luring them to its nest. This relationship is strictly symbiotic in nature; the demon's presence gradually rewrites the partner's nature to adapt them to itself—a completely irreversible process. As a result of this union, the bonded individual loses the capacity to love or to form physical and mental connections with anyone other than their Tamashī no Akuma, experiencing physical rejection, detachment, and illness if they attempt to receive romantic affection from a third party.

If a Tamashī no Akuma is forcibly separated from its partner—or separated through manipulation—it enters a state of trance and violent mourning, attacking anyone perceived as a threat or as responsible for the separation. During this agony, if the demon fails to reclaim its partner and ultimately dies from exhaustion, all the power condensed within it under pressure automatically transforms into "grudge energy." This final parting curse activates the moment of death, inevitably killing everyone who contributed to taking its partner away and forcing them to endure the same prolonged suffering the demon experienced in life. To save the life of the bonded individual following external interference, it is imperative that the prior bonds be definitively severed in the presence of the Soul Demon, allowing it to take the individual back and heal them before the symbiotic collapse becomes fatal.
