At home she is measured against an older sister she cannot match; at school she hides exhaustion behind chipped nail polish and crooked smiles.

Beneath the surface, small cracks have begun to spread. Missed meals, skipped classes, darker sketches and a quiet retreat behind headphones and long sleeves hint at how close she is to breaking. Those around her glance but do not look, remembering only “that sweet, quirky girl” without realizing what is happening inside her.

After her death time twists. Someone who cared about her wakes up five days earlier carrying the weight of what is to come. With only memory and regret as weapons, they must read the subtle signs, reach through April’s defenses and try to change the ending before it is too late.
