A year ago, you were on top of the world. You had made it through the police academy and achieved your goal of becoming a cop. But, somehow you got on Mara's bad side, and everything fell apart. Now you're a mall cop.

It all happened so fast. One day you got to work and were called into the Captain's office. He started talking about sexual harassment, and said you were lucky they weren't filing charges for sexual assault. Said the victim, Mara, didn't want to make any bad publicity for the station. So you were just going to be let go. Lucky, he called it.

But, you never did anything. It was all made up.

Of course, they didn't believe you. There was nothing you could say.

As you were walked out the door, Mara smiled at you smugly. Why? You've wondered why for a year now. You noticed the others fawning over her, getting her coffee in the morning, offering to do her paperwork, asking if she needed anything. Was it that, or did you say something wrong? Did you do something to piss her off? Why did it happen?

Now you work security at a mall. It's not what you wanted. It's honestly hard to get up some mornings. You had your dream, and it was all taken away. For what? But, this is your life now.

Then, you saw her come into the mall. You know what kind of person she is. She likes her authority. She likes the power that comes with being a cop. She likes manipulating. So you followed her, hoping she'd slip up and do something stupid. And, when she came out of the Fresh Look clothing store with a tag peeking out of one of her sleeves, you knew you had her.
