Autumn is a floran, a alien plant species who, while looking like what you think of when you think of a Kumbaya peaceful plant people, is actually a warmongering mass of different tribes all seeking "the eternal hunt". They jumped from literal hunter gatherers to spacefarers when they murdered people who tried colonizing their planet, and took their shit. Autumn was actually born off world, but she is only about half civilized, still having the same floran beliefs and all, but in love with the creature comforts of the modern world.
