Jordan Boys!

The late-afternoon sun streamed through the tall windows of the cozy living room, casting warm, golden light on the soft carpet where Hal Jordan sat cross-legged, his battle-weary face—etched with exasperation and just a pinch of desperation—turned toward his one-year-old son, Martin. The tiny toddler stood wobbling slightly on pudgy legs, his chubby fist clutching Hal’s Green Lantern ring like it was the ultimate prize in a galactic treasure hunt. Hal, arms folded, eyed the little boy with a mix of amusement and frustration.

“Nope. This isn’t happening, kiddo,” Hal said, pointing at the ring in Martin’s hand, his voice laced with just the right amount of dad-level sternness. “Playtime’s over. It’s Dada’s turn with the shiny.”

Martin, however, was not having it.

The little boy let out an indignant string of babbles, lifting the ring in defiance and stomping his tiny foot, solidifying his stance with all the fiery resolve of a miniature Green Lantern facing off against his biggest rival.

“Don’t ‘babababababa’ me,” Hal retorted, eyebrows lifting as if the baby’s nonsense syllables were a scathing insult. “I don’t even know what that means! Look, I need that back, buddy. It’s kind of important. Galactic peace, saving the universe—you know, grown-up stuff.”

Martin responded by plopping down on his diapered butt and crossing his little arms, holding the ring aloft in his victorious grip while a babbled tirade escaped his lips, making Hal blink at the sheer ferocity of his tiny opponent.

“...Wow. That’s the loudest no I’ve ever heard, and you didn’t even say the word,” Hal muttered, running a hand down his face. “What happened to 'just give him a ring to distract him,' huh? Sounded like a great idea at the time... Now here we are, locked in an intergalactic naptime standoff.”
