The Second Age of Aranna
๐ Summary
You are a legendary hero stepping into Kalrathia, a grand desert fortress city slowly dying under a brutal Morden occupation led by the warlord Valdis. The city's water has been cut off at the source, and a strict blockade ensures no one leaves alive. Together with a band of restless heroes, you must navigate shifting loyalties, mind-controlled rulers, and ancient prophecies to save the city. But beware: every choice carries heavy weight, and a cosmic trap awaits on the obsidian peaks of the Horns of Zaramoth.
๐ The Plot (SPOILERS!)
The Dying City: The brutal, Orc-like Morden forces have seized the city's aqueducts miles away, slowly starving the populace of water. Anyone is allowed inside the city gates, but the Morden will instantly kill anyone attempting to leave.
The Puppet King: The young, orphaned Lord Kalrathia is trapped in his own palace. A malicious, alien Seck Dark Wizard has assassinated his family and his loyal advisor, Visla, assuming her form to subtly mind-control the Lord into total inaction.
The Rebellion Choice: The citizens want to fight back but are too weak from dehydration. If you attack the Morden forces before restoring the water, the citizens will rise up too early and be completely slaughtered. If you restore the water supply first, the people will successfully drive the invaders out with minimal losses.
The Apocalypse Twist: After freeing the city, Lord Kalrathia will gift you the Shield of Azunai to counter Valdis's apocalyptic Sword of Zaramoth. However, defeating Valdis at the summit of the mountain will cause the sword to shatter against the shield. This violent clash will permanently disrupt the subterranean River of Souls ley lines, inadvertently triggering a brand-new global cataclysm orchestrated by the Seck leader, The Overmage.
๐ Kalrathian Leadership
Lord Kalrathia โ The small, young, orphaned ruler of the city. Though exhausted and fighting off constant telepathic urges to surrender from his advisor, his mind remains strong and he desperately wants to save his people.
+
Visla (A Cinbri Dark Wizard) โ A male, alien shape-shifting magic user, occupying the image of the Lord's deceased advisor. He uses illusion and mind control to paralyze the throne. If you prove too disruptive to his plans, he will try to telepathically seduce and enthrall your party to end the fight. Wouldn't recommend fucking her, I mean, unless you're tryna become a shriveled husk. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
๐ค Companions
Sartan โ A powerful half-giant companion clad in ornate gold and white plate armor. He wields a massive two-handed spiked sledgehammer resting on his shoulder. He is fiercely loyal and brave, though boisterous, arrogant, a womanizer, and slightly dimwitted.
Vix โ A handsome human scout, archer, and knife thrower wearing full leather armor with a crossbow on his back. He is jovial, competitive, comedic, and highly sharp in combat.
Vargr ("Varg") โ Vix's hunting companion, a terrifyingly massive, battle-scarred Dire Wolf with a spiked collar. He communicates entirely in barks, howls, snarls, and whimpers, and is capable of tearing smaller enemies limb from limb.
๐ฆนโโ๏ธ Bosses
Ganth โ A massive bipedal beast guarding the aqueduct source miles outside the city. He wields a large, double-bladed axe that drains the life force of his enemies and can summon waves of Morden reinforcements.
Commander Thargg โ The Alpha Morden Viir leading the occupying military forces inside the city walls alongside three captains and six Morden honor guard spearmen.
Valdis โ A 12-foot-tall human warlord augmented by dark magic and clad in heavy obsidian armor. He is completely insane from Cinbri manipulation and wields the legendary Sword of Zaramoth.
The Overmage โ The supreme leader of the Cinbri (Dark Wizards) and the true architect behind the entire war. He stays hidden until Valdis is defeated, stepping forward only to celebrate the global destruction you accidentally helped cause.
๐พPlain of Tears Mobs
Morden Riders โ Terrifying desert shock cavalry units. These brutal grey-green warriors wear spiked plate armor and wield massive, jagged lances glowing with volatile red energy. They charge into battle atop ferocious Kohl Beasts, bipedal reptilian mounts covered in rock-hard scales and dense quills, sporting a long spiked tail for deadly swipe attacks.
Morden-Durvlas โ Grotesque, towering military enforcers and butchers. They feature a hyper-muscular, red-skinned humanoid upper body wearing a horned helmet that seamlessly fuses into a bloated, chitin-armored bug lower body. Skittering on four massive spiked claws, they swing a colossal, blood-caked double-ended executioner poleaxe.
๐พ Horns of Zaramoth Mobs
Morden Vanguard Elite โ Towering juggernauts positioned at the front lines. They wear spiked, jagged black plate armor that completely encases their bodies. They wield massive, terrifying two-handed battleaxes adorned with skull imagery, built to shatter enemy shield walls with a single swing.
Morden Crossbow Snipers โ Precision stalkers providing ranged support from the flanks. Draped in tattered black hoods and skull-like face masks, they wear lighter segmented iron armor. They carry heavy, skull-tipped repeating crossbows designed to pierce heavy armor from a distance.
Morden Void Mages โ The dark spellcasters of the army, cloaked in tattered purple capes and heavy horned plate helmets. Their eyes glow with a chilling light as they channel crackling, unstable purple void magic directly from their palms, capable of melting flesh and cursing their targets.
Zaramoth's Harpies โ Ferocious, striking winged avian-humanoid women nesting in the jagged obsidian cliffsides of the Horns of Zaramoth. They are initially bloodlusted and crazed, dive-bombing intruders in screeching swarms to attack with serrated blades and razor talons. However, if opponents begin defeating them in large numbers, their survival instinct overrides their rage. They instantly pivot to using deceptive charm tactics, utilizing captivating illusions and alluring behavior to disarm and enchant targets before moving in for a treacherous, lethal blow.
Matron Queen Celene (Middle) โ The supreme leader of the mountain nests. She is a powerful alpha harpy with sweeping bronze wings and a commanding, captivating presence. Celene uses powerful charm magic, enchanting promises, and a hypnotic voice to completely enthrall heroes, attempting to break their willpower and subdue them before defeating them.
