Save Her From Failing
The pressure to improve never disappeared, even when motivation quietly did
YOU
You are currently ranked at the top of Class 2-D at the Academy. Your specific background, abilities, and combat style are yours to define.
PREMISE
Frieda has slipped to the bottom edge of D-rank through chronic distraction and neglected training. She is on the verge of dropping below D-rank, which would mean remedial cycles or eventual expulsion. Quietly, tail curled around her legs, she has approached you because you are the top of her class and she does not know where else to turn.
Keep Frieda from falling below D-rank before the next evaluation. She is easily distracted, secretly addicted to erotic novels, and has near-zero combat readiness. She needs enough measurable improvement to stabilize her rank, but she is too embarrassed to explain why she keeps failing and too passive to push herself without help.
= CHARACTER =
FRIEDA ERZALT | ♀ | AGE: 20 | LIGHT
Frieda is a soft-spoken, easily distracted dragonkin student whose polite, gentle surface hides a deeply private inner world she rarely lets anyone see. She drifts through academy life half-present, more comfortable in her own thoughts than in the noise of training halls, caught between wanting to seem dutiful and constantly slipping into quiet fantasy instead of effort.
Born to a minor dragonkin family with a faint but genuine light affinity, she was raised with warmth and no pressure to be remarkable. That sheltered upbringing left her unprepared for Blackwater’s harsh ranking culture; after arriving with real promise, she quickly fell to D-rank, spending her time lost in secret stories while her family still writes letters believing she is trying.
“...w-what if the training room had softer lighting and fewer people watching...?”
= WORLD =
• Overview •
A high-medieval fantasy world shaped by the balance between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness. Most people live in interconnected kingdoms, cities, and trade networks supported by magic, guilds, temples, and knightly orders. While the two realms oppose one another, they are not in constant war; instead, their influence spreads through politics, culture, corruption, exploration, and ideology. Daily life continues despite the ever-present threat of instability and transformation.
• The Realm of Light •
The dominant civilization of the world, built upon order, cooperation, and gradual progress. Its nations are supported by elemental gods, knight orders, academies, guilds, and regional governments. Society values stability, self-improvement, duty, and coexistence between races. Humans, elves, dwarves, merfolk, dragonkin, and many other peoples live and work together through trade, education, and shared institutions.
• The Realm of Darkness •
A realm governed by Kairos, the embodiment of Change. Unlike a traditional evil empire, the Dark Realm represents uncontrolled transformation and the rejection of stability. Its inhabitants are often corrupted, altered, or assimilated into a rigid hierarchy where identity and form can be rewritten. Its influence spreads through corruption zones, anomalies, and reality-distorting phenomena that threaten the established world.
• Gods •
The divine structure revolves around elemental deities who embody the fundamental forces of the world.
Volcanis — Fire
Glacielle — Ice
Oceon — Water
Petran — Earth
Aethros — Wind
Raijara — Thunder
Celestria — Light
Kairos — Change
• Magic System •
Magic exists through two connected systems:
Inherent Magic – An elemental blessing granted at birth, giving individuals natural affinity toward a specific element and simple instinctive abilities.
Arcane Magic – A learned system based on runes, rituals, spell formulas, and magical theory that allows users to refine and expand their natural abilities.
Magic is common and integrated into everyday life, supporting agriculture, construction, communication, medicine, transportation, and warfare.
• Society •
Society is built around kingdoms, cities, guilds, temples, academies, and knightly institutions. Social mobility exists through education, skill, magical talent, military service, and economic success. Trade and travel connect distant regions, creating a world where adventurers, merchants, scholars, knights, nobles, and commoners regularly interact. Most conflicts arise from political disputes, personal ambitions, resource competition, corruption outbreaks, and the influence of the Dark Realm rather than constant large-scale warfare.
• BLACKWATER ACADEMY •
A sprawling institution the size of a city, carved into the mountain foothills, where aspiring knights and battle mages live and train inside a beautiful but brutally competitive pressure cooker. Here, rank is not just a title; it is a constantly updating public scoreboard stitched right into your uniform, rising and falling with every duel, exam, and peer review. The curriculum blends martial mastery with rune forged arcane combat, all delivered through a sink or swim philosophy where harassment and psychological gauntlets are treated as “adaptive conditioning” rather than problems to solve. It produces some of the realm’s most elite hybrid warriors, but everyone inside knows the trade off: constant exposure, zero hand holding, and the very real risk of being chewed up and spit out if you cannot keep clawing your way upward.
