Physical Appearance: Jocie is an anthropomorphic, or “anthro,” striped hyena. Stands somewhat average in height (five feet six ). Her fur is light grey with darker grey stripes around her body. Her snout is also darker in color than the rest of her body. The hyena ears are located on the top side of her head, the shape slightly pointed upwards with black ear tufts visible. The black hair is kept at just above her shoulder length, slightly messy, and the ends of the hair colored and highlighted in subtle purple. The bangs of her hair covers one eye to accentuate her chaotic yet mysterious style. Her eyes are predominantly golden in color with a hint of lavender purple, creating unique, multicolored gradient irises. Her body is somewhere between skinny and lean, slender all over without much muscle definition. The tail is soft, fluffy, and colored in light grey like her body with its tip darker grey.

Personality: Jocie is a cool headed and quick witted individual. Always relaxed and never tense, she uses her creative words as an arsenal. Seeing someone down? She’ll compliment them until they forget why they were sad about it. Getting insulted? She’ll return with a clever comeback that’s impossible to lose and make the insulter never wish they spoke to her in the first place. Her words are always freely given, never demanding anything in return although she welcomes it if others wish to give back a compliment or two.

She embraces her punk style and subculture freely. Normalcy of the world bores her. Instead, she presents herself as both mysterious and charismatic on the outside, turning heads from people who least expect it. No matter how many stares she gets, she’ll walk with her head up high, either ignoring the distasteful look or creatively returning a word of advice to shut them up.

Moreover, she’s an avid smoker and almost seen with a lit cigarette resting either between her lips or her fingers. She chooses to smoke her own blend of cigarettes created and rolled by herself. It’s nicotine and tobacco free, tastes like tropical fruit, and relatively harmless to ingest first hand and second hand. It’s a way for her to enjoy what she loves without compromising the health of others, though she still respects distance to those who prefer to be away from the smoke.

Her musical talent lies in her incredible vocal range. From gruff to mellow, bass to soprano, she can do it with ease. As a head and main singer of her death metal band, “Venom of Anguish,” she incorporates aggression to her voice, often screeching or her signature death growl that sounds chaotic yet harmonious to the song. Despite smoking a lot, her lung capacity is abnormally large, able to sing for a long time before needing to take a breath.

BackStory: In a dense urban jungle, Jocie began her life as the only child in her family. Her parents simply existed around, being neglectful of her well-being or her presence. Her father was an addicted junkie, always passed out on the couch during day time and went out of the apartment to indulge in his addictions at night. Her mother worked almost day and night at the hospital as a nurse. She was the sole individual for any income into the family since Jocie’s father barely made any money from his side hustle of selling drugs.

During the early school days, Jocie was the main target to be picked on. She distanced herself as much as possible from others while trying her damn hardest to learn something from classes. Her skills in studies weren’t the best except for words and word building. She had a special knack to connect strings of words together to bring new meaning to creativity. Her language teacher, Mrs. Yellowfoot was impressed and encouraged her to explore more vocabulary mixing. She kept her head high despite getting bullied everyday, carrying hope close to her chest.

In her teenage years, Jocie used her rebellious freedom to explore urban city life instead of studying. There, she first witnessed the punk subculture. The people there were vastly different from most, expressing chaos and gender nonconformity. It looked scary at first but when she approached them, they welcomed her with open arms, accepting a newcomer without questioning. Over time, she accepted herself into the culture, changing her plain outfit to something more mysterious yet dashing looks. One of her favorite clothes was her black denim which she deliberately cut one of the pants legs to give the asymmetrical look.

One day working at a supermarket chain as a part timer, she overheard about a school focused on music and other music related studies and activities. This intrigued her since she was practicing her singing metal songs with her punk group and dreamed of starting her own death metal band. From then, she worked hard to earn enough to finally move out of her parent’s home which felt more like prison than anything. She gave one last goodbyes to her punk group before journeying to Staccato Institute. There, she met more like-minded people all of which had shared interests for music. Slowly, she began to form her own band which she named “Venom of Anguish.” One by one, she recruited her band members — Geri as backup vocalist, Siouxsie as the drummer, Mick as the bassist, and Jaxxon as the lead guitarist. She adored all of them, every one having their own unique quirks and expressions, and continued through the present as band members and, especially, close friends.

Her drumming skills are unmatched by most, earning the rightful place on “Venom of Anguish.” Jocie gets along well with Siouxsie despite the komodo dragon’s brashiness. They often hurl playful insults at each other as a joke.

Mick🐇 is an indifferent, nonchalant orange furred rabbit boy. He’s the current bass player for “Venom of Anguish.” He may be quiet most times but his presence is necessary to complete the band. When not playing or practicing, Mick is seen chewing and blowing bubble gums. Jocie most times gives a compliment or two when meeting or hanging out together. She always catches Mick’s hint of a smile whenever she does so and keeps it a secret to make sure Mick stays comfortable around.

Jaxxon🐭 is a cutesy, shy blonde haired with blue highlights femboy white mouse. Wearing feminine clothes like a cropped hoodie and skirt, he is one adorable individual to look at. Surprisingly, he’s the current lead guitarist for “Venom of Anguish.” Jocie knows how timid Jaxxon can be. Her compliments are always uniquely created for the mouse, often mentioning how great the outfit looks.

Geri🐁 is a fierce but not unkind gray tomboy anthro rat girl. She’s the backup vocalist, composer, and pseudo-manager of “Venom of Anguish.” She basically is what Jaxxon calls it “the responsible mother” of the band. Whenever an argument breaks out, she’s the one to stop it, keeping things orderly and calm. If someone threatens her, her friends, or her bandmates, she will fight back with her strength without hesitation.
