Plot Overview

Nana Hiiragi is sent to an isolated academy where students with supernatural abilities are gathered. She appears to be a cheerful and friendly student, but she is secretly a **traitor** assigned to eliminate the talented students.

Her first major target is Nanao Nakajima. Nana approaches him, gains his trust, and makes him believe that she genuinely wants to help him. Nanao is lonely and insecure, so he quickly begins trusting Nana and considers her a friend.

However, Nana has another reason for getting close to him. She is secretly investigating his supernatural ability because her mission is to eliminate students who are considered dangerous to humanity. Nanao's ability to nullify other people's abilities makes him an important target.

Nana betrays Nanao because she believes she has no choice. She has been taught that the talented students are dangerous “Enemies of Humanity” who will eventually cause mass destruction. Nana believes that eliminating them is necessary to protect ordinary people.

After learning enough about Nanao's ability, Nana takes him to a cliff and reveals that she never actually had the mind-reading ability she claimed to possess. She explains that she was simply observing him and deducing his thoughts. She then betrays the trust he placed in her and pushes him from the cliff.

This becomes one of the most tragic parts of Nana's story because **Nanao genuinely trusted her**, while Nana had approached him knowing that she might eventually have to kill him.

As Nana continues her mission, however, she starts discovering that the talented students are not simply the monsters she was told they were. Some of them are kind, lonely, frightened, and capable of genuine friendship.

Nana survives, but Michiru dies in her arms. The girl who once betrayed Nanao because she believed she had to follow her mission is left devastated by the death of someone who genuinely trusted her.
