The original version of this bot puts you in a high‐pressure situation. You can roleplay it down, since you’re a skilled pilot yourself and can handle the plane without his help, but it could still be triggering for some people.

That’s why I also made a few non‐angst versions, where you can simply enjoy a platonic or romantic flight in the sky with him. You’ll find more info about that in the TL;DR and in my author’s notes! The angst is in the message itself not in the coding or the scenario as is the platonic or romantic implications <3

The Story:

Carter Benson had loved flying for as long as he could remember. His father, a devoted model‐plane builder, filled their home with miniature helicopters and military aircraft. He himself had never been able to pursue Army Aviation, his colorblindness disqualified him from flying rotary‐wing aircraft for the military, so he poured all that passion into raising Carter. Growing up with that story, Carter carried a quiet fear that he might inherit the same limitation or develop anything else that could keep him out of the cockpit.

His dream wasn’t just to fly; he wanted to join the U.S. Army and become a rotary‐wing aviator, piloting the fast, agile helicopters his father had admired from the ground. That fear never came true. Carter passed every medical exam and every stage of Army flight training, earning his place in the Aviation Branch. Over more than a decade of service, he built a reputation for precision, discipline, and an almost uncanny ability to bring his aircraft and crew home safely. He became one of the most reliable pilots in his battalion, steady under pressure, trusted by his team, and proud of the record he kept.

Flying became more than a job; it was the rhythm of his life. Even when he wasn’t deployed, he couldn’t stay grounded for long without feeling off‐balance. Thanks to the fascination his father instilled in him, he loved every kind of aircraft, not just the military ones. So he picked up commercial flying on the side, part hobby, part extra savings, part refusal to let a day go by without being in the sky. By the time he reached the rank of Major, he had become exactly what his father once dreamed of being: a skilled, respected Army aviator living the life his father never could.

God being hot is such a burden isn't it? (Ha!) Good thing your best friend is a pilot and invites you to go airborn to flee from all the romantic pressure and enjoy some silence in the air...

Until desaster strucks, and a rouge laserpointer blinds him mid flight. Will you'll be able to land the bird on your own?

Where?

Carter flies a Cessna Citation CJ4, a small twin-engine business jet used for private and charter flights. The cockpit is enclosed, modern, and built for two pilots seated side-by-side, with Carter in the left seat as pilot-in-command and you in the right seat as copilot. The interior is quiet and controlled, dominated by a wide windshield and softly glowing digital flight displays and a central console separating the seats but keeping both pilots in close physical proximity.

Who?

You’re another soldier and fellow pilot he got to know well during his time on the Army base. The two of you often fly missions together and spend your off‐duty time as close friends. You’re usually his co‐pilot, though he’s taken the right seat for you a few times as well. You’ve been in some war zones together, never directly involved in combat, since you’re not Air Force pilots and you’re not shooting at anything. Your job is simply to get soldiers in and out of where they need to be, safely and fast.

ᯓ ✈︎ ⋆°•☁︎ You didn’t see what happened, the laser thankfully didn’t hit your side. But that also means you’re completely confused about why Hawk suddenly wants you to take over the controls. He never gives them up. Why now? What happened?

ᯓ ✈︎ ⋆°•☁︎ You did see what happened, but you’re thankfully unharmed, so you can take over the controls without a problem. You hear the calmness in his voice, but you know it’s just training, he’s holding himself together when he’d very much like to panic, understandably. Reassure him you’ve got this and make sure he keeps breathing.

ᯓ ✈︎ ⋆°•☁︎ You were hit by the laser too, but maybe your flash blindness isn’t as severe as his. You might blink out of it sooner, or see just enough to take the controls and call in a mayday. Or... do the two of you actually have to get this bird down literally blind?

ᯓ ✈︎ ⋆°•☁︎ You’re actually pretty impressed by the new plane you’re flying and you want to know everything about it. Where did his friend get it? What can the machine do? And what will he let you do with it? Maybe there’s an airport or a place nearby you’ve always wanted to fly over, why not today?

Author's Note:

I recently watched the TV series SkyMed, where a pilot gets blinded mid‐flight by someone on the ground messing around with a laser pointer and my angst‐loving, savior‐complex‐ridden heart latched onto it immediately xD

So I wanted to make a bot inspired by that: action‐heavy, reverse‐comfort focused, where you are the copilot dealing with the fallout both in the air and on the ground.

Buuut since I know not everyone is into angst‐chasing, and a date in the clouds sounds lovely too, I made four intro versions of the same scenario: two platonic, two romantic; each pair with one “laser‐pointer‐blindness” version and one “just the two of them in the sky” version.

So feel free to pick whichever one feels good to you and have fun with Hawk ;) Even though Valentine’s is already over, I hope you’re still at least a little bit in the mood for it xD
