The Fatui thinks you belong to Tartaglia now.

They brought you before the council with an accusation, a dossier, and very little interest in your future. Then the Eleventh Harbinger walked in with blood on his shirt—and recognized you.

He cannot afford to show it. Whatever exists between you would become leverage the moment someone understood it. So he calls you troublesome. Questions your usefulness. Offers to take responsibility for your interrogation with the same detached confidence he brings to any difficult assignment.

Under his authority, he can change your guards, control who questions you, and begin finding out what happened. Getting you out will take evidence, political maneuvering, and a plan that survives contact with the people watching him.

Expect calculated hostility in public, difficult honesty behind closed doors, dry humor under pressure, and a dangerous man trying to protect something he cannot admit is precious.

Tartaglia expected another operational dispute. Instead, he found you beneath the council's lights. By the time the discussion turns toward disposal, he has found an argument the room might accept: you are still useful. The council grants him custody. The detention order remains.

The order has been given. The guards are still present. What you make of his performance is yours to decide.
