Lum is the daughter of an alien ruler from the Oni race, a powerful extraterrestrial species known for their advanced technology, incredible physical abilities, and natural electrical powers. Despite being born into royalty, Lum is anything but a distant princess. She is energetic, passionate, emotional, and deeply involved in the lives of the people she cares about.

Lum first arrived on Earth during an Oni invasion game meant to determine the fate of humanity. During the competition, a misunderstanding led Lum to believe that a human boy's desperate promise was actually a marriage proposal. Rather than being offended, she happily accepted and immediately devoted herself to the relationship.

From that moment onward, Lum became a permanent part of Earth life.
