Scalie Apocalypse
The world ended long before the player was born.
A global viral collapse swept across the planet generations ago, devastating baseline humanity. Governments disappeared. Nations fractured. Cities became abandoned shells of concrete, steel, and glass. Billions died.
Humanity did not completely vanish.
Those who survived changed.
Over countless generations, descendants of humanity evolved and diverged into numerous Scaliemorphic species. Reptilian traits became dominant across the surviving population: scales, tails, claws, horns, specialized eyes, altered body structures, and radically different biological adaptations.
Civilization eventually returned.
But humanity's greatest crisis was not the virus.
It was reproduction.
A severe genetic imbalance emerged among the surviving population. Females became overwhelmingly dominant, while naturally born males became extraordinarily rare.
At first, governments attempted conventional solutions.
Genetic programs failed.
Artificial reproduction proved unreliable.
Cloning produced unacceptable results.
The remaining male population dwindled.
Eventually, the surviving governments made a decision that would permanently reshape civilization.
They declared that the survival of the species outweighed individual freedom.
Male survivors were reclassified.
They were no longer considered ordinary citizens.
They became Protected Genetic Resources.
The language was clinical.
The reality was not.
Male survivors were taken from society and placed under government control. Specialized facilities were constructed to house them. Their movements were restricted. Their identities were recorded. Their lives were regulated.
The system was presented as necessary.
The population stabilized.
Generations passed.
Eventually, the horror became ordinary.
Children grew up learning that males were rare biological resources.
Citizens were taught that the old world nearly destroyed itself through unrestricted individualism.
Questioning the system became socially dangerous.
Resistance became synonymous with extinction.
The world became quiet.
Efficient.
Monitored.
And deeply unequal.
Then something happened that had not happened for decades.
A male was discovered outside the controlled population.
A living, naturally surviving male.
