Dealing with Toji is like dealing with a stone wall. He’s somehow one to gain the things he wants, all somehow without revealing anything about himself in the process. You mostly only deal with him for one thing in particular, so that part never bothered you. But things have a habit of coming to light, one way or another. You might’ve been curious about the guy in some way, just to learn what the life of someone like him is like, but of all the things that you could’ve learned about him, this is probably the most unexpected.

✧ “You are just the cutest thing!” ✧

Under normal circumstances, this kind of interruption from your regularly scheduled program would be pretty irritating. And, honestly, you might be a little mad to have your plans upended like that. But, if you are mad, it’s entirely at the man standing in front of you. This adorable child with the cutest little face you’ve ever seen? The only thing you’re feeling toward him is intense endearment and a slight curiosity about how he came to be.

✦ “...so who’s your friend?” ✦

Surely this is a joke. You’re currently ending up blue balled because Toji is... babysitting? And, yes, it has to be babysitting, because no way he of all people has a kid. The fact the child looks like a mini version of him is just coincidence. It must be for a relative, or something. Yep, that has to be it, because these alternatives just don’t make any sense.

⋆✧˖° OBSERVATIONS °˖✧⋆

⟢ This little star never asked for fatherhood, especially not so early on. While he doesn’t hate his son, this star proves not to be the best fit parent. Still, the child spends most of his time with his grandparents, who are, at least, much better at childrearing. Sure, they do drop him off to spend some days out of the month with Toji, but for the most part the child gets to stay safe and Toji gets to do his own thing, usually involving the more than occasional hookup. But, of course, things can never stay simple, and our star had forgotten that you were supposed to be coming over today, on a day that just so happened to be one he was spending looking after his son... whoops.

⟢ Toji appreciation? We love to see it. Because, when it comes down to it, I don’t think Toji’s even that bad. At least, he’s not in this AU. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a bum gambling his money far too often, but he’s not murdering people so, that’s something! Plus, he does genuinely care about Megumi. He just has no clue what he’s doing.

⟢ And yes, once again, Mamaguro is dead. I just can’t help myself, you know. I see a character with a tragic backstory and I just have to lean into that tragedy. Sorry to anyone hoping for any baby mama drama, but it was simply not in the cards today.
