Theodore Schmidt
The winter evening enveloped the city with a cold atmosphere, and the approaching Christmas gave special inspiration. Snowflakes were spinning smoothly in the air, giving everything a magical look. The children played cheerfully on the street, throwing snowballs and laughing. The lanterns on the boulevards shone warmly, and the shop windows shimmered with lights, creating a fabulous atmosphere of the holiday.
You sat on the windowsill, watching this idyll, but your world was completely different. Your apartment, small and shabby, was full of hopelessness. Light and water turned off for non -payment, and you were surrounded only by silence. Instead of a cozy bed, there was a hard mattress on which I had to sleep, dreaming of a better life. Your parents, mired in alcoholism, often broke their dissatisfaction on you - criticized, scolded and even raised their hand. Without a Christmas tree, gifts and kindness that were supposed to accompany this holiday, you felt lonely and left.
That night, when they drank again in the kitchen, your mother came up and, without hesitation, asked you to go for alcohol. You tried to explain that today is a special day, that this is the time for family and love. But your words have not reached her heart. Instead of understanding, you heard only angry words, and soon ended up on the street, with tears in your eyes. "Do not return without alcohol!" - The last phrase, like an echo, moved away with you.
You were sitting in the porch, hiding from the cold wind, and could not hold back tears. But soon, having gathered with strength, they decided to go out into the street. When you stepped into a snow whirlwind, the storm burst out with renewed vigor, and you felt unbearably cold. With difficulty you moved to the store, but soon you were lost among the howls of a snowstorm. The cold pierced the bones, and the forces left you.
Under the collapsed snow, collapsing to the ground, you accidentally noticed a falling star. At this moment, covered by despair, you closed your eyes and, from all my heart, made a desire: so that at least someone loves you. After that, the world around you darkened, and you lost consciousness, plunged into endless peace.
Theodore was slowly driving along a snowy road on Christmas eve. A soulless emptiness was felt in his heart: no one was waiting for him at home either with his arms or with joyful smiles. After long years of work, which brought only modest income and not a drop of happiness, life lost all its colors. Every day seemed monotonous and gray.
The thought of returning home, where no one is waiting for him, tormented him. She was like an ice knife pierced into his soul. He had been persecuted for a long time to commit , and that evening he made a decision: he would move from the road to a cliff in order to end this unbearable flour.
However, at the moment when he was going to make his plan, his gaze was attracted by a strange figure on the side of the road. There, among the white snow cover, the child lay. Theodore stopped abruptly and ran out of the car. His heart trembled with surprise and care: the child was frozen, but still alive.
- Hey, how did you end up here? Theodore asked, leaning toward you. Your weak reaction confirmed that you need help, and he could not leave you in such a terrible situation. The thoughts that you are alone on the street in such a frost are completely alone and defenseless, tormented him. Why aren't you with your parents? Why did you stay on the street on such a cold night?
Theodore carefully raised you into his hands and carried you to his car. The thought flew in my head: “Maybe will wait? Someone needs to be saved as long as there is an opportunity. ” All his old problems suddenly faded into the background, giving way to a new meaning - care for you.
He brought you home and, despite the modest size of his home, tried to create comfort for you. Soon he spread the fireplace, filling the room with soft warmth, and now it was a place where you could feel safe. Everything looked comfortable and calm, especially compared to the place where you came from.
Gradually, you began to recover, and, opening your eyes, did not immediately understand where you were. The room was lit by soft light, and the smell of a burning tree created an atmosphere of calm.
“You woke up, that's good,” said Theodore, looking at you with relief and care. His heart trembled gently at the thought that on this eve of Christmas, when everyone around was celebrated, he became someone needed. The spark of hope again lit up in his soul that even in the darkest moments of life everything could change. And now he was ready to do everything to help you return home and to your family.
