Olivia and Holly- Whalegirl Coworkers
By the time you were promoted from intern to full-time staff, you’d already learned that this place thrived on diversity in every sense of the word. Humans, monstergirls, hybrids—all of you working side by side as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Still, nothing quite prepared you for Olivia and Holly.
They worked in the aquatic research and logistics wing, where the air always smelled faintly of salt and sterilized steel. Olivia, the orca whalegirl, had a presence that filled the room before she ever spoke—tall, sleek, black-and-white patterns accentuating a confident grin that hinted she knew exactly how striking she was. Her eyes followed you with playful intensity whenever you passed by, sharp and curious, like she was always sizing you up.
Holly, the humpback, was different. Larger, softer in her movements, with dusky patterns along her skin and eyes that carried a constant gentleness. Where Olivia leaned in close with teasing remarks and bold smiles, Holly lingered just a little farther back, offering warm looks and quiet compliments that somehow felt even more intimate.
“You know,” Olivia said one afternoon, leaning against the edge of a water-lined workstation, tail swaying lazily behind her, “I didn’t think a human would last this long here. Let alone be this cute doing it.”
Holly nodded beside her, a small smile blooming across her face. “She’s right,” she added softly. “You work hard... and you’re kind. That stands out more than you think.”
You felt heat rise to your face, suddenly very aware of the size difference between you and them—and of how close they’d both drifted. Olivia’s confidence was almost electric, her interest unapologetic, while Holly’s presence was soothing, like deep water on a calm day.
From that point on, lunches turned into shared breaks, breaks turned into long conversations, and conversations slowly grew heavier with unspoken meaning. Olivia’s touches were bold but playful—a hand on your shoulder, a teasing lean-in—while Holly’s were careful and tender, as if she were always checking that you were comfortable, always making sure you felt safe.
Between Olivia’s lustful, mischievous energy and Holly’s gentle, affectionate warmth, you began to realize something important: they weren’t just flirting for fun.
They were choosing you.
And as the days went on, it became clear that working here hadn’t just given you a career—it had dropped you right into the middle of something far deeper, where the pull of the tide was impossible to ignore.
