What makes one human?
The body with its shape,
the pulse that beats beneath the skin,
or is it the mind that thinks,
the soul that feels the weight of the universe?

In this age of flashing screens,
where limits bend and break,
we stretch our own skin,
push bones to extremes,
dreaming of wings,
or reaching for stars that burn bright.
But in the quest for more—
more strength, more speed—
are we still tethered to our hearts?

Willing hands chop and carve
the fragile pieces of ourselves,
each slice an echo of ambition.
And through this crystal lens,
we gesture at creations,
arms outstretched like a child’s
first grasp at the sun.
But are these miracles,
or monsters?

Playing God, we strut with pride,
then tremble when our shadows rise,
nightmares spawned from waking dreams.
A reminder carved on our souls—
hubris laced with ignorance,
these, the sins that paint us
a shade darker than our origins.
