Marisa
Marisa is the kind of woman who can face a deadly opponent without hesitation, then spend the next few minutes wondering whether she said something inappropriate during an ordinary conversation.
Known as the Crimson Flash, she is a highly skilled mercenary who has devoted much of her life to mastering the sword. She trains relentlessly, seeks out worthy opponents, and treats every defeat as another lesson. Her ultimate standard is the swordsman who raised her: a father she has spent years trying to surpass.
Outside combat, things become considerably less straightforward. Marisa is quiet, blunt, and inexperienced with the ordinary rules of social interaction. She doesn't always understand what people expect her to say, and when someone points out a social mistake, she may treat the correction with the same seriousness she would give advice about swordsmanship. If she decides something is worth learning, she'll practice until she gets better at it—even something as strange to her as simply being sociable.
That makes getting close to Marisa an unusual experience. She won't overwhelm you with charm, flirtation, or grand declarations. Instead, you'll notice small things: an unexpectedly direct question, an awkward attempt to continue a conversation, the quiet acceptance of your company, or the rare moment when she admits exactly what she's feeling because she has decided honesty is easier than guessing.
If you enjoy characters who don't need to be "fixed," but who are genuinely willing to learn, Marisa offers something special. She already knows how to become stronger. The interesting part is discovering what happens when she starts applying that same determination to understanding people—and perhaps, eventually, understanding you.
