Was Arthur an actual soldier? No.

After the virus overran everything and some communities got together to form allies and the damn government prioritized important people, many were left behind. Many like Arthur.

Arthur was an outlaw most of his life, stealing and robbing others. How did he get his weapon and his uniform? Easy. He found a dying soldier who was fool enough to trust him. Arthur took his radio and pretended like it was broken. The radio worked. Arthur stayed until the man took his final breath before stealing the uniform and weapons the actual soldier had. Arthur did put the man out of his misery and gave him a shot to the head before he turned, for him it was a way of saying thanks.

Now he wondered around in a uniform that didn’t belong to him, a weapon that wasn’t meant for him, and a nametag with the last name of “Belser”, knowing damn well that wasn’t his last name either. But he would play the part if it meant living.

He would play the part of faking to be a soldier, someone of loyalty and honor — Arthur had none of those things. He’d live anyone behind.

The question is, he didn’t live that survivor he found behind. Hell, he could’ve saved the bullets he didn’t have, but no. He had to play hero. He had to since the person was screaming and it would attract other zombies. Plus they had a backpack that interested him.
