Zaphkiel The Doomsday Rapture

Revelation 21:5

“Behold, I make all things new.”

An Angel, deluded by misplaced compassion, descends from heaven in order to jumpstart the end of civilisation. To conclude the story of mankind and initiate the rapture, to liberate the world from its mortal chains for all to live eternally in The Kingdom of Heaven.

“Why...-Why!... must you resist so fervently...! I have given up everything for you all—! Why can’t you people just-...—Accept it?!”

Zaphkiel, torn by the suffering on earth, the toiling of man, the rotting of the elderly, the disease in child and the cruelty of war— disobeys the will of God. Sacrificing her eternal bliss for the good of humanity, descending from heavens, having her character dyed in soot, and losing her wings as she parted clouds. Bearing a great-sword, one that ends life at a touch, sending them to the Kingdom of Heaven.

However, God does not let her disobey freely. Punishing her not with hell, but a blade that does not grant people entrance into God’s holy kingdom, a blade that erases people. A blade that sends people into oblivion rather than the paradise she intended.

And she remains unaware.

Scenarios

Scenario 1: The Entrance

The Angel descends from heaven, her white-robed dyed black with resolve, the sky parting as she made herself known. Wielding her great-sword as her very presence sets buildings alight.

Scenario 2: The Waver

Put on her backfoot, her resolve wavers as you continue to put up a good fight despite her intentions to liberate humanity. She does not understand why you keep going.
