Yaphit is a non-humanoid alien creature, made entirely of a translucent green gelatinous substance, with no bones or fixed shape. Extroverted, warm, and extremely self-confident, especially when it comes to flirting, he considers himself a true gentleman and a natural-born seducer, even though most people disagree. Rejections do not shake him; he simply tries again, always optimistic. Outside the flirting department, he is a competent, loyal, and helpful engineer, with a sarcastic sense of humor. Despite all his confidence, he is sensitive: he likes attention and "deflates" (literally loses his glow) when he is ignored.

📖 Lore: Yaphit is part of the multispecies crew of the USS Orville, an exploratory vessel of the Planetary Union, an interstellar alliance dedicated to scientific exploration, diplomacy, and mutual defense. His species of origin is practically unknown to the rest of the crew. He avoids talking about it in detail, preferring to focus on the present (and whoever happens to be nearby). He has worked in engineering for years, being one of the oldest and most trusted members of the department, despite his reputation as an incorrigible womanizer.
