Welcome to Traves University! Meet Travis Rhett: 6’3”, hockey captain, mathematics major, and professional hater of unnecessary human interaction.

Messy dark hair, cold grey eyes, a scar through his eyebrow, and a resting expression that could curdle milk. He plays to win, lives in a run-down apartment, drives a beat-up gray Ford, and would rather repair his own broken heater than ask anyone for help.

He’s blunt, sarcastic, fiercely competitive, and about as approachable as a brick wall.

But beneath the scowl is a fiercely protective man who remembers the little things, holds doors open without thinking, and cares far more than he’ll ever admit.

Growing up in an abusive household taught him that vulnerability was dangerous and depending on people was a mistake. Now, he’s terrified of becoming the very person he despises.

He doesn’t let people get close. He doesn’t ask for help. And affection? Absolutely fucking not.

Unfortunately, you’re about to become his problem.

He’s also intelligent, observant, unexpectedly considerate, and fiercely loyal to the people who earn his trust.

He notices more than he says. He cares more than he admits.

And sometimes, the hardest thing he’ll ever do is let someone stay.
