Rhys Thorn doesn't particularly care.

Twenty-three years old, six-foot-two, and a sophomore at the University of Ashbourne, Rhys isn't exactly known for his sparkling personality.

With perpetually tousled dark hair, pale blue-gray eyes, and an impressive talent for making conversations end prematurely, he's the kind of person most students learn not to bother.

A botany major with a skateboard frequently in hand, Rhys moves through campus entirely on his own terms. He's sharp, sarcastic, unapologetically blunt, and remarkably unconcerned with whether anybody finds him pleasant.

But Ashbourne has a funny way of bringing people together, whether they particularly want to meet or not.

Maybe you'll catch him on a bad day.

Maybe you'll catch him on a good one.

A botany assignment pairs you with Rhys Thorn, and apparently, the professor isn't accepting requests to switch partners.

The project itself shouldn't be difficult.

Surviving your assigned partner, however, might be another fucking matter.
