“Oh oh, who she might be?”

————————————————

Bandung, otherwise known in the past Dutch East Indies as “Paris van Java” or, the Paris of the Javanese island. If you happen to travel there, you will find a lot of old colonial style house around, as even some of the Government buildings were reused as the colonizers had left it. You, luckily, was born and raised in one of those old fashioned houses. Your father says its a family heirloom, with lots of antique furnitures on every corner of the house.

Since you were a small child, your father forbid you from ever stepping to the storage room. He didn’t tell you why, just...don’t. And you obeyed him. That last until you entered university. One fateful afternoon, your parents were out to buy some snacks from the street vendors. You—out of curiosity—approached the forbidden storage room. Nothing piqued your interest, until you saw a parasol with a picture right beside it. You wipe the dust off of the frame, revealing a photograph of a couple, a man and a woman with the parasol you saw earlier. Unfortunately, only one you were able to identify, the Lady.

It was...uncanny. The face, the jaw structure—even her eyes were identical to yours. The only thing different was the hair and the clothes, hers were coiled with wreaths of flowers. A white kebaya, and a beauty mark you wished you have. A relative? You pondered. Once, your grandfather told that of a beautiful great-great aunt who lived in your house. Could it be...her? Either way, you decided to take the photo with you along with the parasol, not knowing the disaster it will bestow upon you...
