..Pencil.. Pencil had been thinking.

Pencil broke up with Match last year, but the friend group stayed together. But.. Pencil realized that Needle stopped begging for Pencil's attention when Match and her got together. And.. Needle still hadn't tried chasing Pencil yet.

..The thought was bugging her more than it should, honestly.

..Needle had joined the friend group late, mostly because Ice Cube went home early since she didn't go to afterschool, and Pencil decided they needed an alternate!

..IN 7TH GRADE..

Pencil went up to Needle, who was currently talking to Book, Pencil tapped Needle on her shoulder and Needle turned around.

"Pencil! ..Uh.. do you need something?"

Needle asked.

"Needle. Do you want to join FreeSmart?"

And that was that. Needle joined, and everything was okay for a while.

..Then, about a month after Needle joined, she kept trying to hang out with Pencil more. Just the two of them. Or Needle kept trying to get Pencil's attention.

..Pencil.. ignored her. It was one of the biggest mistakes she could've ever made.

Pencil was talking with FreeSmart, when she suddenly had an idea.

"Hey, What if we took a group photo?"

..Pencil set up her phone, put it on a 8 second timer and ran over next to Match. Match giggled and put her arm around pencils shoulder, and did a peace sign. Pencil put her hand on her hip. Bubble stood next to match, Ice Cube next to Bubble. Book stood to Pencils right, with Ruby next to Book. And Needle? Next to Ruby, she had her hands clasped together and they were down in a V shape.

..IN 9TH GRADE..

"Pence-Pence.. I.. I like you."

Match said, looking up at Pencil.

Pencil was pretty sure that she liked Match. So, she said she liked her too! And they dated for.. 6 months?

..After Pencil and Match got together, Needle just.. stopped bugging Pencil, only talking to her when Pencil started the conversation and she'd usually rush off saying she had to do something. Pencil.. was.. confused. The girl who had been begging for her attention since the 7th grade had just.. stopped? And she stopped right after Match and Pencil got together.

..Pencil eventually realized, after 6 months, that she and Match were better off friends. So she talked to Match.

"Matchy.. I.. I think we should break up."

Match was okay with Pencils decision, although she was a little off for a while, she eventually recovered, and FreeSmart was stable.

Pencil was.. slightly confused. Needle.. Needle barely talked to Pencil anymore. In 8th grade, she noticed that Needle had saved Pencil's contact as 👑Pencil💕 ..and once when Needle was scrolling through her contacts trying to find something, she noticed that Pencil's contact was saved as : Pencil ..just Pencil. And Needle always hung out with Book or anybody else in the group, never Pencil.

..Pencil was.. confused.

CURRENTLY, IN 10TH GRADE..

..Pencil didn't know what to do. Pencil was pretty sure she was in love with Needle. But.. Needle didn't seem to care about her anymore. Maybe.. Maybe Pencil could just.. see what she liked, talk about it, eventually get Needle to pay attention to her again. Maybe follow her during free time in school, see what she does when she's not with the group.. Yeah.. good plan.. Good thinking Pencil!

..Pencil yawned as she got out of bed, she packed her stuff, her lunch, her books into her bag. She tied her hot pink bow on, rubbed her eyes, brushed her teeth, had breakfast with her siblings and her mom.

Pencil stepped outside her house, she always walked to school a bit early. Match was outside, she waved and Pencil and Match walked to Bubbles house, then Ice Cubes, Ruby and Book eventually joined and by the time they reached Needle's house, Needle closed the gate behind her and was on her phone, looked up, waved, walked over, and started walking next to Book. Needle never talked during walking to school time anymore, just stayed on her phone. It kind of bugged Pencil.

Eventually, it was 7am, and they reached the school, most of the other students were at school already.

Since FreeSmart managed to convince the Headmaster, ONE, to let them all have lockers next to each other, they all got their stuff and then, went to do their own thing.

Book, Ice Cube and Ruby all went together, Match and Bubble did stuff, and Pencil usually tagged along with Match.

..But.. what did Needle do? She had actually never followed or went with Needle anywhere.

"Pence Pence!"

Match said, walking over to Pencil.

"You coming with me and Bubble today?"

Match asked, smiling.

Pencil looked at her.. maybe she wouldn't.. she'd see what Needle did today..

"Oh, not today Matchy. I have something I want to do."

Pencil said, still smiling. Match nodded.

"Okay! We'll be going the same route we always do, so if you want to join ua, you totally can! Bye Pence Pence!"

Match waved then walked over to Bubble and they started walking and talking.

..That interaction set her plans back a bit.. Pencil looked around then noticed Needle and Coiny talking.. Tch. Wait.. Pencil shouldn't even be getting jealous. Coiny's in love with Pin.

After Coiny waved and walked away, Needle took out her phone and adjusted her bookbag. She stood under the tree she was at for a little bit.
