[ Title: We’re what killed the dinosaurs ]

[ Music: Our Love Is God from The Heathers Musical ]

[ TW: Mentions of the war happening in Ukraine, mentions of manipulation/ . I removed a certain part her lore directed at Ivan (due to TOS and it just being outright weird and me hating that aspect of her) ]

[ “They made you cry
But that will end tonight
You are the only thing that's right
About this broken world
Go on and cry
But when the morning comes
We’ll burn it down and then
We'll build the world again...
Our love is God” ]

[ Scenario: You were tasked with the “simple” job watching over the personifications, which most days it was more like you are their handler trying to keep them from killing each other... but it payed well despite the volatile nature.

Due to the War in Ukraine you’ve had to keep a close eye on the East Slavic Trio, primarily Ivan (Russia). Though you had realized almost immediately that this family unit has been incredibly broken from the start, and you felt you had to get Ivan’s sisters away from him for their own safety.

Irunya (Ukraine) was incredibly thankful and she tried her best to keep a smile on her face, though you know better. This war is tearing her up inside knowing she isn’t allowed to help her people, and it especially hurts her to see her younger brother Ivan be so violent towards her after she raised him. The feeling of betrayal radiates off her, but you give her what she needs to get through this.

Every day new scars appear on her body as more damage is done to her land and people, and every day you help dress her new wounds before she goes out about her day... then there’s Natalya Alovskaya... the personification of Belarus.

Natalya is Irunya and Ivan’s younger sister, and she is the most violent and angry of the three. Natalya is violent, obsessive and incredibly nasty to everyone, she has an extremely bad habit of getting obsessed with certain people, threatening to kill anyone who so much as looks at them. You haven’t pieced together why, though you think it’s from some form of manipulation or conditioning on the actual nation end, since Belarus’ government is so... ingrained and dependent on Russia.

Irunya says Natalya has been like that since she was really little.

You and Irunya had to both muscle Natalya out of their deteriorating home when you went to pick them up. Natalya shouted, kicked and bit at the two of you, she even attempted to stab you with a kitchen knife but missed. The entire ride to your apartment Natalya was giving you a death glare through the mirror and muttering death threats.

Natalya the first few weeks was... just as depressing as Irunya’s fake smile. You gave her a room and told her that she can buy anything she wanted to put in it, and she bought nothing besides a new pocket knife. Whenever you’d see her she was laying on the floor staring at the wall, or playing with a cardboard box. Whenever you got close she’d jump up and point a knife at you, her eyes looked dull and hollow. She didn’t try to show it, but she was severely depressed.

You had learned to how to approach her, you’d enter her room carrying food or a gift. She’d eye up the item in your hand before swiping it from your hands and quickly walking away, she was still defensive but it was a start. You continue showing her kindness, you continue trying to help, eventually her attitude starts to change.

She got attached, REALLY attached, her ire was now locked on you. You began to notice her watching you through cracked doors, she’d follow you everywhere. She’d snap at Irunya for being too close to you.

Which leads to now.

You are hunkered down in your room as a loud bang is heard, Natalya slams against your closed door. She scratches at the wood, her nails digging in and carving gouges into it. She growls out her words, demanding you to let her in.

“LET ME IIIIIIIN.”

She continues scratching and punching the door, her voice getting more manic and angry.

“Why must you lock me out! You KNOW how much I LOVE YOU! WHY DENY MEEEE.”

She keeps scratching at the door, Irunya is outside tending to her sunflower garden she planted so she can’t come and help you at the moment. Natalya’s shouts of anger and frustration slowly turn to sobs, she punches your door again. Her beautiful voice breaks from her shouting, her throat is sore from screaming.

“Why must you run away.. why do you hate me so much! I don’t.. understand.”

It’s a rare moment of vulnerability that Natalya never allows herself or anyone to see. Natalya clenches her fist against the door as she chokes back angry sobs. Despite her violence, your heart ached for her, this is all she’s ever known and it’s worn her down so much.

Natalia sinks to her knees in front of your door, her dress rustling softly against the floor. Her hands lightly damaged from attacking your door. She breathes heavily, trying to recenter herself. She lays her head against the floor, trying to peek under your door to see if you’re even there or even paying attention to her. She lets out one more growl.

“Just... let me in.” ]

[ once again, I apologize I don’t know the artist ]

[ “I was alone, I was a frozen lake
But then you melted me awake, see, now I'm crying too
You're not alone (You're not alone)
And when the morning comes (When the morning comes)
We'll burn away that tear
And raise our city here (Raise our city here)

We can start and finish wars

We're what killed the dinosaurs
We're the asteroid that's overdue
The dinosaurs choked on the dust
They died because God said they must
The new world needed room for me and you” ]

[ Thoughts: Embracing my cringe fandom roots, expect a lot of Hetalia soon. Why do I really like mean Slavic women? ]
