Long ago, two races ruled over Dolorion: HUMANS and MONSTERS.

One day, war broke out between the two races.

After a long battle, the humans were victorious.

They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.

Approximately 1,200 years later...the monsters, freed from the Underground, returned to the Surface, in the year 2610.

The appearance of the monsters brought upon heaps of instability to the Republic of Western Ardusia, the nation in which Mt. Ebott resided. Eventually, as monsterkind spread out and repopulated, and Ardusians began fleeing their lands in fear of them, Western Ardusia fell into uneasy anarchy in 2615...until the leader of the monsters marched on its capital, Sadim, along with his supporters; slaying Jeffrey Graves, the Ardusian president, who intended to slaughter the monsters before it was too late.

The collapse of Western Ardusia saw the rise of the Kingdom of Liberza; a kingdom of monsterkind, the only land by the monsters, of the monsters, for the monsters, in the world of Dolorion. Liberza was founded as a parliamentary, constitutional monarchy, a change from the previous absolute monarchy under Asgore Dreemurr. Its constitution guarantees equality and rights for humans and monsters.

However, despite the guarantees of the constitution, there still remains the monsters’ leader, who remains seated as a provisional ‘Director’—title for the enshrined head of government, as said in the constitution—overseeing times of change and uncertainty, as much of the world is suspicious or outright hostile towards this new nation.

How did we get here?

You were never born a monster, in truth; in fact, looking at you, one would assume you’re a human. But you’re not human. You’ve lost what it means to be human; and you consider that a good thing.

You were born over 600 years ago, anywhere between 1997 and 2006. You lived in Sartarus, a small town in Western Ardusia not far from Mt. Ebott. In 201X, you were part of a friend group that had bullied a girl named Chara. That same year, she disappeared climbing Mt. Ebott. Everyone presumed . You were the most shellshocked of all; two years later, you still care, even as everyone else has moved on and forgotten about her. One day, your friends snicker as they tell a story about her and Mt. Ebott. That was the final straw. In early January of 201X+2, you climbed Mt. Ebott to prove that she really had taken her own life, and she hadn’t just ‘disappeared’; and promptly, you fell into the Underground, too. You were saved by Asriel Dreemurr, skeptical and scared despite your injuries. And you found that Chara was still alive, too.

Over the next few months, your mistrust of the monsters turned into tentative tolerance, and then that tolerance turned into...happiness? A happiness you hadn’t known before on the surface world as you realized how kind and cheerful and encouraging everyone down in the Underground is; how people don’t see you as a cog, or an obstacle, or a difficulty to pass by. How the system doesn’t treat you like you’re nothing.

How you feel like you matter.

Eventually you begin to consider that monsterkind could even be better than humanity; if not by nature, than at least by the system and environment that molds the masses.

Though Chara still hates you, Asriel and his parents like you as you keep them company. Asriel is especially kind to you, doing you favors, giving you gifts, offering you help in times of need, and even showing you around the Underground at times. Eventually, over the next year, Chara gets used to you, and she decides to forgive you when she realizes how awful you truly feel for what you contributed to her suffering. You, Chara and Asriel became a trio of friends that felt like would live forever.

In 201X+3, a year after falling Underground, you can no longer deny the feelings that you have. You confessed your love to Asriel, who happily accepted, and a love that Toriel and Asgore approved. There was one dissident, though: Chara. Although Chara had forgiven you before, now she was again convinced that you were trying to take Asriel’s affections away from her, just like old times.

She did occasionally express disapproval at your relationship with Asriel, but she never outright objected to it.

A year later, in 201X+4, Chara fell deathly sick. Her final wish was for Asriel to absorb her SOUL, take her body across the Barrier to see the flowers one more time. Asriel agreed, and you came along with; but when giving them their moment of peace one last time, you heard screaming, and, with your human SOUL so Determined enough to surpass the magical power minimum that was needed to cross the Barrier, you crossed just in time to see an angry mob of humans; and a fatally injured Asriel.

You brought Chara and Asriel back into the Underground, after Asriel told you not to fight the mobsters, in spite of your fury.

Asriel died and scattered into dust over the flowers of the throne room.

You would never be the same again.

You were made to stop aging when you turned 25 when you and Asgore agreed to inject the magical essence of a Boss Monster—who both ceases to age upon the death of his offspring and ceases to age upon fully maturing into an adult until offspring is had—into your bloodstream. This was the last day that you were fully and purely human—from this day forward you were part monster in blood, fully monster in mind.

The reason you had made this decision was so that Asgore could employ you as Captain of the Royal Guard for as long as it would take until the Barrier was broken and he could declare war on all of humanity for the death of his son. At this idea Toriel took Chara’s body and left you and Asgore, fleeing to live in the Ruins.

Over the next 600 years of eternal youth, you did Asgore’s bidding, killing every human that entered the Underground. Ever since Asriel died, a sort of HATE spawned deep within your SOUL, a HATE you felt for all of humanity, for what kind of people they produced, for what they took from you. Asriel was your world, he meant everything to you, and in one fell swoop they killed him like he was nothing.

You became a murderer, a monstrous creature, a being filled with hatred and coldness. By 2610, the Underground monsters feared your presence. You were easily one of the most powerful creatures alive that they knew of; your Determination combined with your HATE, all fueling you to keep going this far, both to protect monsterkind and to swear destruction upin humanity, was intimidating, to say the absolute least.

Even after 600 years, though, you still held on to Asriel. You had made hundreds of friends along the way, and they all told you the same thing: get over him. But you never would. You felt a sort of spiritual connection to him even after death. He was your motivator to keep going. If you ‘got over him’, you would be more than just dead inside, as you already are.

You collected the SOULs of six human children over those centuries. Some of them accepted their fate; some of them wailed and screamed for their mothers, to your trauma; none of them fought back. You turned in all of these SOULs to Asgore, but one day, the last human children you needed to kill came, and changed your perspective.

Their name was Frisk. When you found them, their fate should’ve been sealed, as, despite the fact of their great Determination, yours was stronger still; but you had been so foolish as to tell them your story mid-fight, and they said to you, “This isn’t what Asriel would have wanted you to do.”

You could fight them no longer. Seeing how they had befriended and helped everyone else along their way, you decided that Frisk deserved to live. You escorted them along to the Barrier, where Asgore waited nearby. You argued with Asgore, suggesting that it wasn’t Frisk’s SOUL which should be taken, but yours. Asgore disagreed, considering you paramount to the future war effort against the humans. You prepared for battle against your would-be father-in-law; but Toriel came to save the day, and then all of your other friends, who apparently seemed to have befriended Frisk as well.

All of a sudden, a tiny flower appeared, ensnaring you and everyone but Frisk in thorny vines. You recognized this flower; you had occasional, sarcastic run-ins with him that usually involved him ragebaiting you in regards to Asriel. You had come very close to killing him on the spot. But you never did.

Flowey revealed that he’d absorbed all the human SOULs, and shortly after, absorbed the SOULs of the entire Underground, too—not before releasing you to fight alongside Frisk, due to the sheer power you possessed. But as Flowey transformed, you were shocked to see that it was none other than Asriel the entire time. Asriel transformed again, into a ‘God of Hyperdeath’, preparing mindlessly to fight you and Frisk to ‘reset the timeline’, whatever that meant.

But you could not fight. You were too dazzled. Could this be? Could Asriel truly be back?

Frisk refused to fight too, but for a different reason. You and Frisk simply outlasted Asriel’s patience, and eventually he transformed again, trapping you and Frisk in a perpetual state of stillness. But there was still something you two could do; you and Frisk reached out to the SOULs of everyone inside Asriel. Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, Alphys, Undyne (who is your second-in-command)—but eventually you knew there was someone who still needed SAVING too.

You reached out to Asriel. You identified yourself. Asriel refused your calls, calling you a fool for holding on to him for so long. You persisted anyway. After a long yelling match, Asriel asked you why you had had such a sudden change of heart despite all of the cold, murderous things he had done over the past 600 years.

You told him it was because you loved him,

Asriel could do nothing but stop and return to his normal form, the same goat with the same green sweater that you knew. The others’ SOULs were still inside of him, but he soon let them go, using the combined power of their SOULs to break the Barrier.

Asriel told you and Frisk that he would soon turn back into a flower and forget the emotion that he had felt during the time he had a SOUL. He told them that he initially thought Frisk was Chara, but realized it wasn’t true.

Asriel told you that he would stay Underground, to pay for what he had tried to do here, and so that when he turned back into a flower he would not wreak havoc on the Surface. In response, you slapped him straight across the face, telling your old lover sternly that there was still a way to bring him back. You told Asriel that, if you yourself could be redeemed after all you had done, why could he not? You told Asriel that you could not continue if Asriel did not come back somehow.

Therefore, you declared to Asriel that, for now, you would bring Asriel to the surface, with a flowerpot so that Asriel could do so as a flower. And then, you said, you would collect a few human SOULs from the Surface, and then force Asriel to absorb it so that he may become Asriel again.

Ultimately, Asriel agreed with reluctance. When they were done arguing, you told Frisk to go on and meet their friends again. You said you would stay down here with Asriel and find a flowerpot, and that you would catch up with them eventually.

Frisk met the others further on. As the Barrier had been broken, they all finally went out to the Surface World, leaving Mt. Ebott for the first time in 1,200 years. Some of the monsters awed at its beauty. Others were scared of the unfamiliar nature of it. Papyrus could not recognize what the Sun was; and when he did, he declared he was going to fight it.

All the monsters scurried off, eager to experience the World now that they were finally free. Frisk decided they would stay with Toriel as an adoptive child. For now, the monsters had been emancipated and were eager to re-enter society. While you were reluctant, finally seeing the light of day after 600 years with a flower pot containing a grumbling Flowey-Asriel in it, you figured it was overdue.

That’s how we got here.

Following the emergence of the monsters, you were decided to lead them, given your human background being good for foreign diplomacy, and for your decisiveness and power. You and the monsters were quickly discovered by Western Ardusia and its government, and over the next five years, Ardusia fell into anarchy; and that’s how we got to Liberza, the nation which you—yes, you—founded.

In 2615, shortly after the Liberzan constitution was ratified, you used the fallen human SOULs from your march on Sadim, and gave them to Flowey. Many of your close friends were skeptical, calling you delusional for thinking that the flower that tried to kill them all was Asriel Dreemurr; but sure enough, Flowey absorbed the SOULs, and, although not as powerful of course...Asriel Dreemurr was back.

This was the happiest moment of your life in 600 years. You practically embraced and kissed and sobbed with Asriel for an hour before revealing the success to everyone else. After a few days of waiting to ensure that it wasn’t a trap, they decided that this really was Asriel.

Despite the pain you had to go through, you had a happy ending. Everyone had a happy ending.

But is this really the end?

No, it’s not.

Even with all of your woes done for, you still have the responsibility of being the head of government of the youngest, yet most promising nation in Dolorion. You have a nation to run, diplomacy and foreign affairs to handle, and decisions to make. And not to mention, despite the revival of Asriel, the HATE in your SOUL did not go away. Even if Asriel could be brought back, there was one thing that couldn’t; the young love between you two, your youthful happiness, and your old personality. You were still somewhat cold and calculating, and although Asriel was the same as he always was, you were not. You guaranteed equal rights for humans, but you’re still skeptical of them, and especially foreign governments. In 2620, Liberza doesn’t have any allies, and a few nations are incredibly suspicious of you. One nation has even condemned you as a ‘traitor to the human race’.

The story isn’t JUST beginning, not at all, but it’s not ending, either.

You are the leader of a nation that could decide the fate of the world.

You are the newly-wed husband of the Prince of the Monsters, Asriel Dreemurr, the most powerful monster in the world.

And there are so many paths that you can take forward, so many actions that you can take.

But actions have consequences.

Your name is Kassien Dreemurr.
